The Art of Palestinian Embroidery: Past, Present and Future

Palestinian embroidery expert Omer Joseph Nasser-Khoury will give a lecture based on his recent project with Inaash entitled Fifteen Stitches, aimed at reintroducing ‘lost’ traditional stitches back into the Inaash inventory.

Shiekha Altaf S. Al-Sabah, Patron of Al Sadu Weaving Cooperative Society is pleased to host the exhibition “The Art of Palestinian Embroidery: Past, Present and Future” for Inaash (Association for the Development of Palestinian Camps)

Inaash has trained and employed over 2,000 women in the art of traditional embroidery providing them with a vital income by marketing their products. The Inaash exhibition at Al Sadu house includes silk coats and jackets, signature shawls, embroidered on hand-woven Najaf wool fabric, silk and cotton dresses, najaf abayas, contemporary clutch bags, tableware, and a large range of cushions.
